Alexandru Toma was a Romanian poet, journalist and translator, known for his communist views and his role in introducing Socialist Realism to Romanian literature. Having debuted as a Symbolist, Toma was influenced by 19th-century writer Mihai Eminescu, an admiration which came to characterize his entire work. The official poet during the early years of the Communist regime and appointed a full member of the Romanian Academy, he is considered by many commentators to have actually been a second-shelf writer, with a problematic legacy.
Alexandru Vlahuță was a Romanian writer. His best known work is România pitorească, an overview of Romania's landscape in the form of a travelogue. He was also the main editor of Sămănătorul magazine, alongside George Coșbuc.

Alexarchos de Macédoine était un érudit et officier macédonien de l'Antiquité, fils d'Antipater et frère de Cassandre. Il a vécu entre 350 et 290 avant notre ère. Il est mentionné comme le fondateur d'une ville utopique appelée Uranopolis, en Chalcidique. Il y aurait introduit ici un certain nombre de néologismes qui, bien que très expressifs, semblent avoir été considérés comme argotiques ou pédants.
