Yuriy Volodymyrovych Makarov is a Ukrainian journalist, TV presenter, documentarian, writer of Russian origin. Until 2009, he was the editor-in-chief, of the magazine "The Ukrainian Week"; in 2017–2019, Makarov was a member of the board of Suspilne, since 2019, he has been the editor-in-chief of Suspilne. Since 2019, he has been the Chairman of the Taras Shevchenko National Award Committee of Ukraine. Honored Journalist of Ukraine. Member of PEN Ukraine.
