L’abbé Antoine François Prévost [pʁevo], dit l'abbé Prévost, né le 1er avril 1697 à Hesdin (France) et décédé le 25 novembre 1763 à Courteuil (France), est un romancier, historien, journaliste, traducteur et homme d'Église français.
Antoine Furetière, né le 28 décembre 1619 à Paris et mort le 14 mars 1688 dans la même ville, est un homme d'Église, poète, fabuliste, romancier et lexicographe français.

Anton Pawlowitsch Tschechow [ˈtʃʲɛxəf], wissenschaftliche Transliteration Anton Pavlovič Čechov; in englischen Texten auch Chekhov; * 17.jul. / 29. Januar 1860greg. in Taganrog, Russland; † 2.jul. / 15. Juli 1904greg. in Badenweiler, Deutsches Reich) war ein russischer Schriftsteller, Novellist und Dramatiker. Er entstammte einer kleinbürgerlichen südrussischen Familie und war ab 1884 Arzt von Beruf, betrieb Medizin jedoch fast ausschließlich ehrenamtlich. Gleichzeitig schrieb und publizierte er zwischen 1880 und 1903 insgesamt über 600 literarische Werke. International ist Tschechow vor allem als Dramatiker durch seine Theaterstücke wie Drei Schwestern, Die Möwe oder Der Kirschgarten bekannt. Mit der für ihn typischen, wertneutralen und zurückhaltenden Art, Aspekte aus dem Leben und der Denkweise der Menschen in der russischen Provinz darzustellen, gilt Tschechow als einer der bedeutendsten Autoren der russischen Literatur.
