Irwin Allen Ginsberg – amerykański poeta pochodzenia żydowskiego, działacz społeczny, członek American Academy of Arts and Letters, jeden z najważniejszych twórców tzw. poezji konfesyjnej, lider ruchu artystycznego określanego jako Beat Generation oraz zdeklarowany homoseksualista. Allen Kurzweil is an American novelist, journalist, editor, and lecturer. He is the author of four works of fiction, most notably A Case of Curiosities, as well as a memoir Whipping Boy. He is also the co-inventor, with his son Max, of Potato Chip Science, an eco-friendly experiment kit for grade schoolers. He is a cousin of Ray Kurzweil and brother of Vivien Schmidt.

He is best known for Grandfather's Journey, a children's picture book detailing his grandfather's voyage from Japan to the United States and back again, which won the 1994 Caldecott Medal for illustration. This story is autobiographical and relates to Say's constant moving during his childhood. His work mainly focuses on Japanese and Japanese American characters and their stories, and several works have autobiographical elements.
