Georgiy Afanasyev was a Ukrainian historian, politician, and diplomat. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Ukrainian State (1918). Received a master's degree for his thesis: "The main points of the ministerial Turgot" (1884); and his doctoral dissertation was: "The Conditions of the Grain Trade in France at the End of the 18th Century" (1892). From 1888 he lectured at the Odessa University. He read in Odessa and Kiev.

Georgiy Alexandrovich Ball was a Russian writer. He was best known for his prolific work in children's literature.

Georgiy Nikolayevich Daneliya, also known as Giya Daneliya, was a Soviet and Georgian film director and screenwriter of Georgian origin. He was named a People's Artist of the USSR in 1989 and a laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation in 1997.

Georgiy Sergeevich "George" Starostin is a Russian linguist. He is the son of the late historical linguist Sergei Starostin (1953–2005), and his work largely continues his father's. He is also known as a self-published music reviewer, author of the Only Solitaire Blog.

Georgiy Stepanovich Zhzhonov, was a Soviet and Russian stage and film actor and writer. He is known for playing the spy Mikhail Tulyev in the "Resident" quartet of films, Beware of the Car (1966), The Hot Snow (1973), and many others, and was a popular actor. He was appointed People's Artist of the USSR in 1980.

Georgy Viktorovich Adamovich was a Russian poet of the acmeist school, and a literary critic, translator and memoirist. He also lectured on Russian literature at universities in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Georgy Alexievich Skrebitsky (1903-1964) was a Soviet writer and naturalist. He was born in Moscow, the son of a doctor. He grew up in the town of Chern in Tula province. In 1921, he graduated from high school and went to study in Moscow. After completing his studies from Institute of Words, he eneted the faculty of hunting and animal husbandry at the Moscow Higher Zootechnical Institute to study more thoroughly the natural world. He graduated from the Zoo Institute in 1930, and went to work in zoology at state institutes such as the Moscow State University.

Georgy Arkadyevich Arbatov was a Jewish Soviet and Russian political scientist who served as an adviser to five General Secretaries of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and was best known in the West during the Cold War era as a representative for the policies of the Soviet Union in the United States, where his fluent English helped make him a frequent guest on American television. He was the founding director and later emeritus director of the Institute of USA and Canada of the Soviet Academy of Sciences (ISKRAN), the Soviet and Russian think tank for the study of US and Canada.

Georgy Filippovich Baydukov was a Soviet test pilot, Hero of the Soviet Union (1936), writer and hunter.

Georgy Timofeyevich Beregovoy was a Soviet cosmonaut who commanded the space mission Soyuz 3 in 1968. From 1972 to 1987, he headed the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center.
