Harold William "H.W." Coyle is an American writer and author of historical and speculative fiction and of war novels including Team Yankee, a New York Times bestseller. He graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 1974, spent 14 years on active duty with the US Army, and is a veteran of the Persian Gulf War. Other pen names include H.W. Coyle. He has co-authored books with Barrett Tillman and Jennifer Ellis.

Harold Edward Palmer, usually just Harold E. Palmer, was an English linguist, phonetician and pioneer in the field of teaching English as a second language. Especially he dedicated himself to Oral Method. He stayed in Japan for 14 years and reformed its English education. He contributed to the development of the applied linguistics of the 20th century.

Harold Holzer is a scholar of Abraham Lincoln and the political culture of the American Civil War Era. He serves as director of Hunter College's Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute. Holzer previously spent twenty-three years as senior vice president for public affairs at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York before retiring in 2015.

Jaffe is also a Professor of Creative Writing, English, and Comparative Literature at San Diego State University.

Harold Irwin Kaplan was a psychiatrist and founding editor of the Comprehensive Textbook of Psychiatry.

Harold Verne Keith was a Newbery Medal-winning American writer. Keith was born and raised in Oklahoma, where he also lived and died. The state was his abiding passion and he used Oklahoma as the setting for most of his sixteen published books.
