John Brocklesby was an English-American academic who served as president of Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.

John Raymond Brosnan was an Australian writer of both fiction and non-fiction works in the fantasy and science fiction genres. He was born in Perth, Western Australia, and died in South Harrow, London, from acute pancreatitis. He sometimes published under the pseudonyms Harry Adam Knight, Simon Ian Childer, James Blackstone, and John Raymond. Three movies were based on his novels–Beyond Bedlam, Proteus, and Carnosaur. In addition to science fiction, he also wrote a number of books about cinema and was a regular columnist with the popular UK magazine Starburst and comic 2000 AD. Liverpool University holds a collection of his work consisting of both published material and drafts.

John Brougham was an Irish and American actor, dramatist, poet, theatre manager, and author. As an actor he was celebrated for his portrayals of comic Irish characters. The author of more than seventy-five dramatic works, with some sources stating more than 150, he was particularly successful in the genres of burlesque and satire. His large output of subversive satirical stage works earned him the nickname "The American Aristophanes" among critics. In addition to his work as a playwright he published two volumes of his miscellaneous writings; including essays, poems, and other works.

John Kilian Houston Brunner was a British author of science fiction novels and stories. His 1968 novel Stand on Zanzibar, about an overpopulated world, won the 1969 Hugo Award for best science fiction novel and the BSFA award the same year. The Jagged Orbit won the BSFA award in 1970.

John Bunyan (; was an English writer and Puritan preacher. He was baptised 30th November 1628 and lived until 31st August 1688. He is best remembered as the author of the Christian allegory The Pilgrim's Progress, which also became an influential literary model. In addition to The Pilgrim's Progress, Bunyan wrote nearly sixty titles, many of them expanded sermons.
