Marta Sanz Pastor is a Spanish writer. Her work includes the novels Susana y los viejos, Daniela Astor y la caja negra, Los mejores tiempos. and most recently Farandula which won the 2015 Premio Herralde. She is also a noted poet; among her notable works is the award-winning collection Vintage.

Martha Adelaide Holton (c.1860–c.1947) was a children's fiction author of the late 19th century and early 20th century. She was Supervisor of Primary Education in the Minneapolis Public Schools for 10 years. She wrote the Holton Primer (1901). She cowrote Industrial Work for Public Schools (1904) with Alice F. Rollins, which describes a variety of construction projects in different mediums: cardboard, paper, clay, weaving, whittling, sewing and iron work. She worked with Charles Madison Curry to create the Holton-Curry Reader, a basal reader in 8 volumes for the elementary grades, which was published by Rand McNally in 1914.

Martha Albrand (1914–1981), born Heidi Huberta Freybe Loewengard was a German-American novelist. Albrand was the name of her Danish great-grandfather.

Martha Finley was an American teacher and author of numerous works for children, the best known being the 28-volume Elsie Dinsmore series which was published over a span of 38 years. Her books tend to be sentimental, with a strong emphasis on religious belief. The daughter of Presbyterian minister Dr. James Brown Finley and his wife and cousin Maria Theresa Brown Finley, she was born on April 26, 1828, in Chillicothe, Ohio. She died in 1909 in Elkton, Maryland.

Martha Foley cofounded Story magazine in 1931 with her husband Whit Burnett. She achieved some celebrity by introducing notable authors through the magazine such as J. D. Salinger, Tennessee Williams and Richard Wright. In 1941 she became the series editor for The Best American Short Stories series.
