Mollie Evelyn Moore Davis was an American poet, writer, and editor of the long nineteenth century. From the age of 14, she wrote regularly for the press and other periodicals. A critic said of her that she was "more thoroughly Texan in subject, in imagery and spirit than any of the Texas poets," and that scarcely any other than a native Texan could "appreciate all the merits of her poems, so strongly marked are they by the peculiarities of Texas scenery and patriotism." In 1889, Thomas Davis became editor of the New Orleans Picayune.

Maureen Mollie Hunter McIlwraith was a Scottish writer known as Mollie Hunter. She wrote fantasy for children, historical stories for young adults, and realistic novels for adults. Many of her works are inspired by Scottish history, or by Scottish or Irish folklore, with elements of magic and fantasy.
Mollie Katzen is an American cookbook author and artist. The author of twelve cookbooks, she is best known for the hand-lettered, illustrated Moosewood Cookbook (1977) and The Enchanted Broccoli Forest (1982). She has written and illustrated three children's cookbooks, Pretend Soup (1994), Honest Pretzels (1999), and Salad People (2005). In 2007 the Moosewood Cookbook was inducted into the James Beard Cookbook Hall of Fame. In 2017, her papers were collected by the National Museum of American History at the Smithsonian Institution. This includes all the hand-lettered originals, plus illustrations, from the Moosewood Cookbook and The Enchanted Broccoli Forest, and is now part of their permanent collection.

Molly Elliot Seawell, an early American historian and writer, was a descendant of the Seawells of Virginia and a niece of President John Tyler. Reared upon a large plantation, her education included being "turned loose in a library of good books", her father's home containing the best literature of the 18th century. She read English classics, and was especially fond of poetry. She did not read a novel until after she was 17, and the first was Goldsmith's The Vicar of Wakefield. Her three amusements were reading, riding and piano-playing. Her father, a prominent lawyer, died just as Seawell reached adulthood.

Molly Majbritt Emilia Johnson (1931–2016) was a Swedish novelist from Hofors who was brought up in a working-class family. She made her debut with Pansarkryssaren when she was just 24. Inspired by Sergei Eisenstein's silent film Battleship Potemkin, it tells the story of a spontaneous rebellion on a ship travelling to an industrial town in Sweden and has been described as a "modern classic". Apart from a children's book in 1956, it took thirty years before she published her second novel Morbror Anders in 1884. Johnson also contributed articles to newspapers and journals.
