Musa Bigiev was a Tatar Hanafi Maturidi scholar, theologian philosopher, publicist and one of the leaders of the Jadid movement. After receiving his education in Kazan, Bukhara, Istanbul and Cairo, he became a political activist for the Ittifaq, the political organisation of the Muslims of Russia. He also taught in Orenburg, wrote journalistic texts and translated classic works into Tatar. After emigrating from the Soviet Union, he travelled Europe and the Middle and Far East while writing and publishing.
Musa Cälil was a Soviet–Tatar poet and resistance fighter. He is the only poet of the Soviet Union awarded simultaneously the Hero of the Soviet Union award for his resistance fighting and the Lenin Prize for having written The Moabit Notebooks; both awards were bestowed upon him posthumously.
Musa Gaysinovich Gareyev was a squadron commander in the 76th Guards Ground Attack Aviation Regiment of the Soviet Air Forces during the Second World War. He was also the only Bashkir twice awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.

Musaeus Grammaticus probably belongs to the beginning of the 6th century AD, as his style and metre are evidently modeled on those of Nonnus. He lived before Agathias (530–582) and has been identified with the friend of Procopius whose poem on the story of Hero and Leander is considered the most beautiful of the age. The little love-poem Alpheus and Arethusa is also ascribed to Musaeus.
Musanus was an early Christian writer mentioned briefly by Eusebius in his Church History as the author of a book, extant in his time, against the Encratites. Jerome, probably based on Eusebius, also wrote about him in De Viris Illustribus.
Musine Kokalari was an Albanian prose writer and politician in Albania's pre-communist period. She was the founder of the Social-Democratic Party of Albania in 1943. Kokalari was one of the first published female writers of Albania. After a short involvement in politics during World War II, she was persecuted by the communist regime in Albania, and not allowed to write anymore. She died in poverty and complete isolation.
Abu al-Walīd Muslim ibn al-Walīd al-Anṣārī, also known as Ṣarī‘ al-Ghawānī, was among the finest poets of the early Abbasid period, and mawla of the Ansar. As worded by Hilary Kilpatrick, he was patronized by Abbasid dignitaries, one of the first masters of the "refined" badiʿ style, best known for wine and love songs, also composed panegyrics.
Muslim Muhammad oghlu Magomayev or Muslim Magometovich Magomayev, known simply as Muslim Magomayev and dubbed the "Soviet Sinatra", was a Soviet, Azerbaijani and Russian opera and pop singer. He achieved widespread recognition throughout Russia and the post-Soviet world for his vocal talent and charisma, including a People's Artist of the USSR award in 1973.
