Maria Theresa Asmar was a Chaldean author, foremost known for her book Memoirs of a Babylonian Princess, which consists of two volumes and 720 pages. This book was composed some time in the early nineteenth–century, describing her travels through Assyria, Chaldea, Mesopotamia, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine and the harem system used in Turkey. The book was finally translated into English in 1844. Maria Theresa Asmar died in France before the Franco-Prussian War, and was known as "Babylon's Princess" in Europe.
Maria Thompson Daviess was an American artist and feminist author. She is best known for her popular novels written in the early 20th century, with a "Pollyanna" outlook, as well as several short stories, among them, “Miss Selina Sue and the Soap-Box Babies," "Sue Saunders of Saunders Ridge" and "Some Juniors.". Daviess was affiliated with the Equal Suffrage League in Kentucky, being the co-founder and vice-president of the chapter in Nashville and an organizer of the chapter in Madison.

Maria Valtorta was a Catholic Italian writer. She was a Franciscan tertiary and a lay member of the Servants of Mary who reported personal conversations with, and dictations from, Jesus Christ. She lived much of her life bedridden in Viareggio in Tuscany where she died in 1961. She is buried at the grand cloister of the Basilica of Santissima Annunziata in Florence.
