Seyyed Hossein Nasr is an Iranian philosopher, theologian and Islamic scholar. He is University Professor of Islamic studies at George Washington University.
Shackerley Marmion, also Shakerley, Shakerly, Schackerley, Marmyon, Marmyun, or Mermion, was an early 17th-century dramatist, often classed among the Sons of Ben, the followers of Ben Jonson who continued his style of comedy. He was also a friend and perhaps a protégé of Thomas Heywood.
Shahamir Shahamirian was an 18th-century Armenian writer, philosopher, and wealthy merchant in Madras. Born in New Julfa, Iran, he moved to India where he became an affluent merchant and an active member of the Armenian community of Madras. In 1771, Shahamirian and his collaborators founded the first Armenian printing press in Madras. In 1787/88, Shahamirian published Vorogayt Parats, which contained a proposed constitution for a future independent Armenian republic. He is thus regarded as the author of the first Armenian constitution.
Dato' Haji Shahnon bin Ahmad was a Malaysian writer, a National Laureate, and a Member of Parliament. He was awarded with the National Literary Award in 1982. He was also a Professor Emeritus at Universiti Sains Malaysia in Penang.
Prof. Shahram Akbarzadeh is based at Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia. Prior to his commencing his appointment at Deakin University in 2014, he was professor of Middle Eastern politics at the University of Melbourne. Akbarzadeh completed his M.A. in Russian and East European Studies at Birmingham University in 1992 and acquired a PhD at La Trobe University in 1998. He served as the Central and West Asia Councillor for the Asian Studies Association of Australia from 1999 to 2004. His numerous publications include works on Middle East politics, Central Asian politics and the politics of radicalisation among the Muslim community of Australia.
Shaikh Inayat-Allah Kamboh (1608–1671) was a scholar, writer and historian during the Mughal era. He was son of Mir Abdu-lla, Mushkin Kalam, whose title shows him to also have been a fine writer. Shaikh Inayat-Allah Kamboh was elder brother and teacher of Muhammad Saleh Kamboh, the famous historian of Shah Jahan's court and teacher of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. He died in 1671 AD at Delhi, and his Maqbara is located in Guband Kambohan wala on Empress Road near Railways Headquarters, Lahore.
Shaikhzada Muhametzakirovich Babich was a Bashkir and Tatar poet, writer and playwright. He is considered a classic author of Bashkir national literature. He was a member of the Bashkir national liberation movement, and a member of the Bashkir government (1917–1919).
Shakarim Qudaiberdiuly (Kazakh: Шәкәрім Құдайбердіұлы, who was born 23 July [O.S. 11 July] 1858 in Ken-Bulak, Semipalatinsk Oblast and died 2 October 1931 in the Chinghistau tract, Soviet Union, was a Kazakh poet, Hanafi Maturidi theologian philosopher, historian, translator and composer. He is known for being a disciple and nephew of Abai Qunanbaiuly.
