Vonne van der Meer is a Dutch prose writer and playwright. Since 1978 Van der Meer has been married to Dutch writer Willem Jan Otten, together they have two sons.

Vsevolod Feliksovich Gantmakher, was a prominent Russian experimental physicist of Jewish origin, was born in Moscow as son of Felix Gantmacher, a prominent mathematician. He was a full Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and is known for his fundamental contributions to condensed matter physics especially for the Gantmakher effect and Gantmakher–Kaner oscillations.
Vsevolod Anissimovich Kochetov was a Soviet Russian writer and cultural functionary. He has been described as a party dogmatist and as a classic of socialist realism. Some of his writings were not well received by the official press, as Kochetov was considered too "reactionary" even by Soviet standards of the 1960s.
