Willy Vandersteen was a Belgian creator of comic books. In a career spanning 50 years, he created a large studio and published more than 1,000 comic albums in over 25 series, selling more than 200 million copies worldwide.
Willy C. Vlautin is an American author, musician and songwriter. He was the lead singer, guitarist and songwriter of Portland, Oregon rock band Richmond Fontaine (1994–2016) and is currently a member of The Delines. Born and raised in Reno, Nevada, he has released 14 studio albums since the mid-nineties with Richmond Fontaine while he has written six novels: The Motel Life, Northline, Lean on Pete, The Free, Don't Skip Out On Me and The Night Always Comes.
Willystine Goodsell was a historian and feminist writer who was a professor of history and philosophy at Teachers College, Columbia University. The AERA Women in Education SIG Award, founded in 1981, is also named in her honour.
Wilna Adriaanse is a South African Afrikaans romantic fiction writer. Her first book, Die wingerd sal weer bot, was published in 2000 under the name Wilmine Burger. Her book, 'n Heildronk op liefde, won the 2003 Lapa Publishers’ Prize for Romance and in 2009 she was awarded the ATKV-Woordveertjie prize for her novel, Die boek van Ester.
Wilson Armistead was a Quaker, businessman, abolitionist and writer from Leeds. He led the Leeds Anti-Slavery Association and wrote and edited anti-slavery texts. His best known work, A Tribute for the Negro, was published in 1848 in which he describes slavery as "the most extensive and extraordinary system of crime the world ever witnessed". In 1851 he hosted Ellen and William Craft, including them on the census return as 'fugitive slaves' in an act that has been described as "guerrilla inscription".
Wilson Barrett was an English manager, actor, and playwright. With his company, Barrett is credited with attracting the largest crowds of English theatregoers ever because of his success with melodrama, an instance being his production of The Silver King (1882) at the Princess's Theatre of London. The historical tragedy The Sign of the Cross (1895) was Barrett's most successful play, both in England and in the United States.
Roy Wilson Follett was an American writer known for writing the draft form of what became Follett's Modern American Usage, which was unfinished at his death and was completed and edited by his friend Jacques Barzun and published posthumously.

Harris is considered one of the most original and innovative voices in postwar literature in English.
