Alix Kates Shulman is an American writer of fiction, memoirs, and essays, and a prominent early radical activist of second-wave feminism. She is best known for her bestselling debut adult novel, Memoirs of an Ex-Prom Queen, hailed by the Oxford Companion to Women's Writing as "the first important novel to emerge from the Women's Liberation Movement."

Alix Ohlin is a Canadian novelist and short-story writer. She was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, and lives in Vancouver, British Columbia. She is a recipient of the 2022 Lambda Literary Award for Bisexual Literature for her short story collection, We Want What We Want.

Aliza Greenblatt was an American Yiddish poet. Many of her poems, which were widely published in the Yiddish press, were also set to music and recorded by composers including Abraham Ellstein, Solomon Golub, and Esther Zweig. They were also recorded by Theodore Bikel and Sidor Belarsky, among others. Greenblatt published five volumes of Yiddish poetry and an autobiography in Yiddish, Baym fentsṭer fun a lebn and her works include such well-known Yiddish songs as Fisherlid, Amar Abaye, and Du, Du.

Alja Rachmanowa is the pen name of Galina Nikolaevna Dyuragina Галина Николаевна Дюрягина, also known as Alexandra von Hoyer, a Russian author and child psychologist. She is known for her diaries which describe her childhood, studies and marriage under the Russian revolution, and life as a refugee in Vienna. As most of her work was first published in German, translated by her husband Arnulf von Hoyer from her Russian manuscripts, she chose a German spelling for her pen name.

Alla Sergeyevna Demidova is a Russian actress internationally acclaimed for the tragic parts in innovative plays staged by Yuri Lyubimov in the Taganka Theatre. She was awarded the USSR State Prize (1977) and the Order of Merit for the Fatherland.
