Godfrey of Viterbo was a Roman Catholic chronicler, either Italian or German. From an early age he displayed great activity as one of the clergy at the court of Conrad III and later Frederick I, accompanying the latter on many of his campaigns, and frequently fulfilling diplomatic missions for him.

Gaufredo Malaterra was an eleventh-century Benedictine monk and historian, possibly of Norman origin. He travelled to the southern Italian peninsula, passing some time in Apulia before entering the monastery of Sant'Agata at Catania, on the isle of Sicily. Malaterra indicates that, prior to his arrival in Catania, he had spent an undefined period away from monastic life, in the worldly service of "Martha".

Goffredo Mameli was an Italian patriot, poet, writer and a notable figure in the Risorgimento. He is also the author of the lyrics of "Il Canto degli Italiani", the national anthem of Italy.

Goffredo Parise was an Italian writer, journalist, and screenwriter. He won the Viareggio Prize in 1965 for his novel Il padrone (The Boss) and the Strega Prize in 1982 for Sillabario n.2.

Gokulananda Mahapatra was an Indian scientist and science fiction writer, who popularized science in the Odia language. Mahapatra has authored over 95 science fiction and children science books. Some of his notable contributions are Krutrima Upagraha, Prithibi bahare Manisha, Chandra ra Mrutyu, Nishabda Godhuli, Madam Curie and Nila Chakra Bala Sapare. He was the founding member of Orissa Bigyana Prachar Samhiti with the objective of making science popular in the state of Orissa. He received Orissa Sahitya Akademy Award for his book E juga ra sreshtha abiskara.

Heri Hendrayana Harris, pen name Gola Gong, is an Indonesian novelist. His pen name, Gola Gong mean "gol" or "goal" is an expression of gratitude from his father when his series of novels entitled The Ballad of Roy published by HAI Magazine. Then the "Gong" is the hope of his mother, so that writing can be echoed to the sound of gong musical instrument. The letter "a" which means "all come from Allah". Thus, the meaning of the name "Gol A Gong" interpreted as "success all comes from God (Allah)".

Golde Gutman Krimer was a Yiddish writer. She was born in Edineț in the Bessarabia region of the Russian Empire, in what is Moldova today. In the early 1920s, she migrated to Argentina. There she emerged as a Yiddish-language writer with her contributions to the Jewish papers Di Prese and Unzer Fraynt in Buenos Aires. She wrote over a dozen books, primarily novels and short stories. Although she lived for the last 60 years of her life in Argentina, her native Bessarabia continued to be a predominant theme in her works.

Golden Age of Russian Poetry is the name traditionally applied by philologists to the first half of the 19th century. This characterization was first used by the critic Peter Pletnev in 1824 who dubbed the epoch "the Golden Age of Russian Literature."
