Hadley Irwin was the pseudonym of a writing team, consisting of Lee Hadley and Annabelle Irwin, both Iowa State English professors. Their book Abby, My Love, 1985, is considered to be the first in children's literature to deal with incest/child sexual abuse. The pair started writing together in 1979.
Khwāje Shams-od-Dīn Moḥammad Ḥāfeẓ-e Shīrāzī, known by his pen name Hafez and as "Hafiz", was a Persian lyric poet, whose collected works are regarded by many Iranians as a pinnacle of Persian literature. His works are often found in the homes of people in the Persian-speaking world, who learn his poems by heart and use them as everyday proverbs and sayings. His life and poems have become the subjects of much analysis, commentary and interpretation, influencing post-14th century Persian writing more than any other Persian author.
Hafez-e Abru was a Persian historian working at the courts of Timurid rulers of Central Asia. His full name is
ʿAbdallah Ebn Lotf-Allah Ebn 'Abd-al-Rashid Behdadini; his short name is also transcribed in Western literature as Hafiz-i Abru, Hafez-e Abru, Hafiz Abru etc.
Hagen Schulze was a German historian who held a position at the Free University of Berlin. He specialized in early modern and modern German and European history, particularly in comparative European nationalisms.
Hagop Terzian was an Armenian writer and pharmacist who lived in the Ottoman Empire. The theme of much of his writings was Armenian life and heritage in the region of Cilicia. He published a five volume eye-witness account of the Adana massacre. This publication was confiscated by Ottoman authorities but has been preserved. The entire work was republished by the Gomidas Institute in 2009. Terzian was arrested on 24 April 1915 at the start of the Armenian genocide, deported and eventually murdered.
Hai Zi is the pen name of the Chinese poet Zha Haisheng (查海生). He was one of the most famous poets in Mainland China after the Cultural Revolution. He committed suicide by lying on the rail in Shanhaiguan at the age of 25.
Haim Gouri was an Israeli poet, novelist, journalist, and documentary filmmaker. Widely regarded as one of the country's greatest poets, he was awarded the Israel Prize for poetry in 1988, as well as being the recipient of several other prizes of national distinction.
