Janina Degutytė was a Lithuanian poet, best remembered for her children's poems, lyrical poetry, in the genres of romance and modernism which were published in Lithuanian and Russian, and subsequently translated into Hungarian and Polish.
Janina Maria Orlov, is a Finnish-Swedish translator of literature. She took her PhD in the Russian language in 2005 at Åbo Akademi with a text about Pushkin's The Tale of Tsar Saltan. Orlov translates books from Russian and Finnish to Swedish and specializes in children's books and youth literature, but also regular literature.

Jānis Joņevs is a Latvian writer, copywriter and translator from french. After studying at the local Gymnasium in Jelgava, he went to Riga for his higher education and earned a Master's degree from the Latvian Academy of Culture. Joņevs is best known for his debut novel Doom 94 which was a bestseller upon its release in 2013. The book later won the European Union Prize for Literature. It was translated into many languages and made into a feature film.
