Nikolay Dmitriyevich Moiseyev was a Soviet astronomer and expert in celestial mechanics. In 1938, he became the chairman of the department of celestial mechanics at Moscow State University and worked on this position until his death. His main works were devoted to mathematical methods of celestial calculations and theory of comet formation.
Nikolay Osipovich Mozgalevsky was a Russian officer and a participant in the Decembrist revolt. His father was Osip F. Mozgalevsky, a landlord in Chernigov Governorate, his mother, Viktoriya Karlovna de Roset. He was educated from 1814 to 1821 in the First Corps of Cadets, from which issued an ensign in the Saratov Infantry Regiment. In 1825, he was promoted to a lieutenant in the same regiment. He became a member of the Society of United Slavs in 1825.
Nikolay Muravyov was an Imperial Russian military officer and General of the Russian Army. A member of the mighty Muravyov family, he distinguished himself during the battle of Warsaw (1831) of the November Uprising. He continued to serve in the military and took active part in the fights of the Crimean War. For his role in the Siege of Kars, captured on November 28, 1855, the tsar awarded him with a prestigious title "Karski", added to his surname.
Nikolay Alexeyevich Nekrasov was a Russian poet, writer, critic and publisher, whose deeply compassionate poems about the Russian peasantry made him a hero of liberal and radical circles in the Russian intelligentsia of the mid-nineteenth century, particularly as represented by Vissarion Belinsky and Nikolay Chernyshevsky. He is credited with introducing into Russian poetry ternary meters and the technique of dramatic monologue. As the editor of several literary journals, notably Sovremennik, Nekrasov was also singularly successful and influential.
Nikolay Mikhaylovich Nikolsky (1877–1959) was a Russian and Soviet religious historian, orientalist and biblical scholar. He became a corresponding member of USSR Academy of Science in 1946.

Nikolay Platonovich Ogarev was a Russian poet, historian and political activist. He was deeply critical of the limitations of the Emancipation reform of 1861 claiming that the serfs were not free but had simply exchanged one form of serfdom for another.
Nikolay Makarovich Oleynikov was a Russian editor, avant-garde poet and playwright who was arrested and executed by the Soviets for subversive writing. During his writing career, he also used the pen names Makar Svirepy, Nikolai Makarov, Sergey Kravtsov, NI chief engineer of the mausoleums, Kamensky and Peter Shortsighted.
