Oleksandr Yakovych Konysky was a Ukrainian interpreter, writer, lexicographer, pedagogue, poet, and civil activist of liberal direction. He had around 150 pen names, including О. Return-freedom, F. Gorovenko, V. Burkun, Perebendia, and О. Khutorianyn.
Oleksandr Yevdokymovych Korniychuk was a Ukrainian playwright, literary critic and state official. He served as Soviet Foreign Minister’s first deputy from 1943–1945.
Oleksandr Ksenofontov or Xenophontov is a Ukrainian record producer and lyricist. He is the husband of the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2004, Ruslana. Ksenofontov wrote the lyrics to the winning song, "Wild Dances". They have been married since 28 December 1995. He is also a lead singer of legendary Ukrainian rock group Tea Fan Club. Together with Ruslana, he is the owner of the Luxen Company.
Oleksandr Oleksandrovych Moroz is a Ukrainian politician. He was the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada twice, from 1994 to 1998 and again from 2006 to 2007. Moroz is one of the founders and the leader of the Socialist Party of Ukraine, formerly an influential political party in Ukraine. Moroz lost parliamentary representation when the Socialist Party failed to secure sufficient number of votes (2.86%) in the 2007 snap parliamentary election, falling 0.14% short of the 3% election threshold.
Oleksandr Oles (1878–1944) was a prominent Ukrainian writer and poet. He is the father of another Ukrainian poet and political activist, Oleh Olzhych, who perished in the Nazi labor camps in 1944.
Oleksandr Vasylyovych Starukh is a Ukrainian historian and politician. On 18 December 2020 he was appointed as Governor of Zaporizhzhia Oblast. He had previously been Governor of Zaporizhzhia Oblast from 2008 to 2010. On 24 January 2023, he was removed from his position as Governor.
Oleksandr Viktorovych Volodarsky is a Ukrainian
publicist, performance artist, and blogger. In the past, he was a left-libertarian political activist, a member of the independent student union "Direct Action", the "Autonomous Workers' Union" and the All-Ukrainian anarchist association "Libertarian Coordination". He is a programmer by profession. From 2002 to 2009 he studied in Germany and since November 2009 he has lived and worked in Kyiv.
