Vasily Alekseyevich Lyovshin (Russian: Василий Алексеевич Лёвшин; July 17, 1746 – August 10, 1826) was a Russian writer.

Vasily Alekseyevich Maklakov was a Russian student activist, a trial lawyer and liberal parliamentary deputy, an orator, and one of the leaders of the Constitutional Democratic Party, notable for his advocacy of a constitutional Russian state. He served as deputy in the (radical) Second, and conservative Third and Fourth State Duma. According to Stephen F. Williams Maklakov is "an inviting lens to which to view at the last years of Tsarism".

Vasily Fyodorovich Malinovsky (Russian: Василий Фёдорович Малиновский; was a Russian diplomat and publicist. He was the brother of Alexey Fyodorovich Malinovsky and Paul Fyodorovich Malinovsky, and the father of Ivan Vasilyevich Malinovsky, a lyceum schoolmate of Pushkin's.

Vasily Ivanovich Maykov — was a Russian poet, fabulist, playwright and translator, an exponent of the mock-heroic poetry genre in Russia.

Vasiliy Mikhaylovich Alekseyev was an eminent Soviet sinologist and a member of the Soviet Academy of Sciences. In 1902 he graduated from the Saint Petersburg University and became a professor. He also worked in the British Museum, Bibliothèque nationale de France, Museum für Völkerkunde, Musée Guimet etc.

Vasily Ivanovich Minakov was Soviet naval pilot who was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union during World War II. After the conflict he remained in the military, reaching the rank major-general.

His main areas of research were the philosophy of probability and its biological, mathematical, and linguistic manifestations. He also studied the roles of gnosticism and mysticism in science. Thompson (1993) summarizes Nalimov as: "...philosopher, educator, devoted husband, mathematician, dissident, writer, and visionary".
