Yuri Valentinovich Nesterenko is a Soviet and Russian mathematician who has written papers in algebraic independence theory and transcendental number theory.
Yuri Alexandrovich Nikolaev is a Soviet and Russian TV and radio host, and actor. He was awarded the title of People's Artist of Russia in 1998, and since 2007 has been a member of the Academy of Russian Television. On 9 May 2007 he was awarded the Order of Friendship via presidential decree, and was awarded the Order of Honour on 14 January 2014 "for his great contribution in the development of national television, radio, print and many years of fruitful activity."
Yuri Vladimirovich Nikulin was a Soviet and Russian actor and clown who starred in many popular films. He is best known for his roles in Leonid Gaidai's comedies, such as The Diamond Arm and Kidnapping, Caucasian Style, although he occasionally starred in dramatic roles and performed in Moscow Circus.
Yuri Borisovich Norstein, PAR is a Soviet and Russian animator best known for his animated shorts Hedgehog in the Fog and Tale of Tales. Since 1981, he has been working on a feature film called The Overcoat, based on the short story by Nikolai Gogol of the same name. According to The Washington Post, "he is considered by many to be not just the best animator of his era, but the best of all time".
Yuri Viktorovich Ofrosimov was a Russian poet and theater critic. He was born in Moscow and emigrated to Berlin in 1920, where he was active in the Russian emigre literary community, including the Berlin Poets' Club. In 1933, Ofrosimov moved to Belgrade; during World War II, he was arrested by German forces. After the war, he lived with his wife Dorothea Vogels in Ennenda, Switzerland.

Soviet and Ukrainian mathematician. Petunin was born in the city of
Michurinsk
(USSR) on September 30, 1937. After graduating from the Tambov State Pedagogical Institute he began his studies at Voronezh State University under the supervision of S.G Krein.
He completed his postgraduate studies in 1962, and in 1968 he received his
Doctor of Science Degree, the highest scientific degree awarded in the Soviet Union. In 1970 he joined the faculty of the computational mathematics department at Kyiv State University.
Yuri Sergeyevich Pivovarov is a historian and political scientist, member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and since 1998, the Director of the Institute of Scientific Information on Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Yuri Pokalchuk was a Ukrainian writer, translator, researcher, candidate of philological sciences, and head of the international department of the Writers' Union of Ukraine. He was the older brother of the writer and psychologist Oleg Pokalchukand a member of the literary group "The Dogs of Saint Yur". Additionally, he was an organizer and leader of the musical group "Lights of a big city" which performed songs set to his texts.
