Franz Viktor Werfel war ein österreichischer Schriftsteller jüdisch-deutschböhmischer Herkunft. Er ging aufgrund der nationalsozialistischen Herrschaft ins Exil und wurde 1941 US-amerikanischer Staatsbürger. Er war ein Wortführer des lyrischen Expressionismus.
Fred Lewis Pattee was an American author and scholar of American literature. As a professor of American literature at the Pennsylvania State University, Pattee wrote the lyrics of the Penn State Alma Mater. Pattee is sometimes labeled the "first Professor of American Literature", a position he held at Penn State from 1895 until 1928.
Fred Merrick White (1859–1935) wrote a number of novels and short stories under the name "Fred M. White" including the six "Doom of London" science-fiction stories, in which various catastrophes beset London. These include The Four Days' Night (1903), in which London is beset by a massive killer smog; The Dust of Death (1903), in which diphtheria infects the city, spreading from refuse tips and sewers; and The Four White Days (1903), in which a sudden and deep winter paralyses the city under snow and ice. These six stories all first appeared in Pearson's Magazine, and were illustrated by Warwick Goble. He was also a pioneer of the spy story, and in 2003, his series The Romance of the Secret Service Fund was edited by Douglas G. Greene and published by Battered Silicon Dispatch Box.
John Fredrick Thomas Jane was the founding editor of reference books on warships and aircraft and the namesake of what would become Jane's Information Group and many of its publications.
Frederic Arnold Kummer Sr. was an American author, playwright and screenwriter. He also used the pseudonym Arnold Fredericks. Several of his works were made into movies. A caricature of him is on the wall of Sardi's restaurant.
Frédéric Bastiat, né le 30 juin 1801 à Bayonne et mort le 24 décembre 1850 à Rome, est un économiste, homme politique et magistrat français. Il marque la France du milieu du XIXe siècle en prenant part aux débats économiques : il collabore régulièrement au Journal des économistes et entretient une polémique virulente avec Proudhon. Élu à l'Assemblée, il participe à la vie politique française en votant tantôt avec la gauche, tantôt avec la droite.
Frédéric Dard, né Frédéric Charles Antoine Dard le 29 juin 1921 à Bourgoin-Jallieu (Isère) et mort le 6 juin 2000 à Bonnefontaine (Fribourg) en Suisse, est un écrivain français principalement connu pour les aventures du commissaire San-Antonio, souvent aidé de son adjoint Bérurier, dont il a écrit 175 aventures depuis 1949.
