Lucia Capacchione was an Italian-American psychologist, art therapist, former graphic designer and a writer who has been bestseller of twenty-two books based on child therapy and self-help, including The Creative Journal (1979) and Recovery of Your Inner Child (1991). She discovered the use of 'writing and drawing with the non-dominant hand' method in art therapy, which she first mentioned it in her work The Power of Your Other Hand (1988). She was the director of Head Start program during the period of President Johnson's war on poverty. A long-time member of American Art Therapy Association and International Expressive Arts Therapy Association, she was also a consultant to Walt Disney Imagineering from 1983 till 1993. Lucia died by suicide on November 28, 2022.
Lucia Chamberlain was an American novelist. Her 1909 book The Other Side of the Door was the basis of a 1916 film of the same name, and her 1917 story The Underside formed the basis of the 1920 film Blackmail. The 1916 film The Wedding Guest is also based on her writing.
Lucian of Samosata was a Hellenized Syrian satirist, rhetorician and pamphleteer who is best known for his characteristic tongue-in-cheek style, with which he frequently ridiculed superstition, religious practices, and belief in the paranormal. Although his native language was probably Syriac, all of his extant works are written entirely in ancient Greek.

Lucian Boia is a Romanian historian. He is mostly known for his debunking of historical myths about Romania, for purging mainstream Romanian history from the deformations due to ideological propaganda. I.e. as a fighter against pseudohistory.
Luciano Canfora is an Italian classicist and historian. Born in Bari, Canfora obtained his first degree in Roman History in 1964 at Pisa University. He has since been Professor Emeritus of Classics at the University of Bari. His specialty is ancient libraries and his book The Vanished Library, which is about the Library of Alexandria, has been translated into some 15 languages.
Luciano Caramel was an Italian art critic, curator, and art historian. In the 1980s he was Deputy Director of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. He taught contemporary art at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan and at Accademia Albertina in Turin. He was an expert on the work of Medardo Rosso. His publications include Arte in Italia 1945-1960, a university textbook.
