in а few days. Mr. Egerton received his liberty yesterday. The Minister

of War will decide about General Abercromby as soon as he arrives,

but I ат led to believe that they will by по means consent to his

exchange for General Nogues.

Mr. Talleyrand desired те to inform уои, that оп the 29 јипе

the French troops were to take possession of Cattaro.

D. Lord Yarmouth to Мг. Fox.

After closing the despatch I had the honour to address to уои this

morning, I went for the passport Mr. Talleyrand had promised to have

prepared for the messengers return.

Instead of giving те the passport he made тапу excuses for its

having escaped his memory, requesting те to wait till he should соте

back from St-Cloud.

When I returned Mr. Talleyrand proposed to те to ofer the Hans

Towns as ап establishment for tlle king of Naples, and that the British

troops should оссиру them the same day they retake possession of

Hanover. Оп а little further conversation had little doubt that were

England to provide in апу other manner for His Sicilian Majesty, the

king might add the Hans Towns and their territories in full sovereignty

to his German dominions.

I was likewise led to believe, though not told so positively, that

Mr. d'Oubril would arrive here immediately in order to give as much

facility as possible to secret concert between the British and Russian

agents.
